I integrated the ChatGPT API to develop live chatbots for banks and private entities in South Africa and the United States, including Absa, Makro, Game, and Dr. Oetker. I implemented features to generate real-time usage metrics for clients, products, and audiences. Additionally, I developed, tested, and deployed a scheduling system that allows clients to easily send bulk Highly Structured WhatsApp Messages.
Using a custom-built workflow builder and Figma, I designed and implemented the chatbot user experience, integrating it with ChatGPT to enable more intelligent customer interactions and significantly increase monthly active users (MAUs). I provided comprehensive support for a ChatGPT-based chatbot system, enhancing human-like interactions and boosting subscriber engagement.
As a lead engineer on projects for Absa, Game, Makro, and Coach Vici, I ensured that all product requirements were clear to the engineering team, Head of Engineering, and our Product Owner. I designed and configured our Docker services with an optimal architecture for several internal products, improved our CI/CD pipelines, and implemented Sentry auto-builds and testing.
I also implemented migration scripts to cater to existing client records whenever we rolled out a new API version release. I developed RESTful APIs, documented every endpoint within Swagger YAML files, and performed extensive testing with Postman. I deployed well-architected, thoroughly tested systems for internal applications, enhancing user experience. For example, I integrated manual and automated archiving for Highly Structured WhatsApp Messages with BigQuery for efficient backups and space optimisation on our central database.

I integrated email services and ticket sales using Redis and Sidekiq to enhance the user experience on the front end, employing threads to handle background processes for seamless and optimal performance.
