Hi! I am a software engineer with an appreciation for detail and best practice, and experience in building SPAs and REST APIs. I aim for simplicity and efficiency when solving problems and I relish learning and striving for excellence. Currently, I am exploring the Node.js ecosystem and pursuing an MSc in Computer Science from the University of York. Before switching to software development in 2019, I worked as a web design consultant for three years, honing the client management, communication, and project management skills needed to succeed in software development. Between 2016 and 2018, I also volunteered as an IT support engineer with a charity called CASP. Here, I regularly flexed my collaborative and independent problem-solving muscles, resulting in an IT award and more significantly standing me in good stead to thrive as a developer. I recently completed Microverse, a remote software engineering program that teams up developers from around the world, to learn and build projects independently and collaboratively. In the last year, I also participated in the JPMorgan Chase Software Engineering Virtual Experience Program. I have been immersed in remote development for the last 18 months, building projects ranging from SPAs and MVC apps to REST APIs and CLIs. Consequently, this ranked me in the top 256 most active GitHub users in the UK for 2020. My current, and ever-growing, toolkit includes: Front-End: HTML, CSS, Sass, Bootstrap, JavaScript, React, Redux, npm, webpack, Babel, ESlint Back-End: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, RuboCop Databases: SQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite Testing: RSpec, Jest Static Hosting: Netlify, GitHub Pages Cloud: Heroku CI/CD: GitHub Actions Looking to chat about an opportunity?
