A programmer at heart, I've been writing code since the heady days of azimuth screws and rubber keys. I've learned and written numerous programming languages over the years; BASIC, pascal, Delphi, classic ASP, JavaScript, ActionScript, PHP, Perl, C++, C# and Python. My native language is PHP, and this is my focus. I've worked in the IT industry since 1996 in various forms, finally settling into web development and general programming since 2001. I have contributed to open source software development in my spare time - I have published and contributed to all sorts of software on GitHub and packagist.org. I have an interest in the progression of PHP as a programming language, and often follow the PHP internals discussions and RFCs. I'm an advocate of open source software in general, and believe that community driven and collaboratively written software produces some of the best solutions. Over the years, I've acquired a specialisation of integrating with third parties, including marketplaces (Amazon, Google, eBay, PlayTrade/Rakuten, etc.), couriers (Royal Mail, DPD, DHL, TNT, Postnord, Bring, etc.), warehousing (Amazon, SEKO global logistics, DHL) and telco / backbone providers (BT, Redbus Interhouse, Telecity Group, etc.) - if it has an API, there's a good chance I've hammered it!
