I graduated from the University of Bucharest, Bachelor of Computer Science in 2010, then I got into the first job interview of my life at JLG Consulting. I was hired as a Junior Web Developer. More than 10 years later, I am still working for the same company. The first 9 years of my career I worked as a Software Engineer on a few web projects for EUROCONTROL (European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation), in roles ranging from Junior Developer to Technical Lead. The most important product I worked on is TOKAI, which helps Air Navigation Service Providers manage the entire air traffic safety incident investigation process. During this period, I acquired various skills like software development best practices, design patterns, architectural overview, task planning and prioritisation, team management and a sense of leadership. Although I liked what I was doing, I always felt I'm not performing at my best. In 2019 I decided to pursue a new career path, moving from Software Development to Product Management, something that started to grasp my attention a few months back. The technical background and inborn soft skills helped me to embrace this change. My ambition helped me dive into the details. Fortunately, the position allowed me to reach beyond the Product Management area of the product, actively working on aspects like Business Development, Customer Satisfaction, Marketing and Sales. I exploited this opportunity to learn and practice new skills - strategic planning, tactical empathy, leadership and the ability to evangelize and inspire others with our vision. As the Product Manager @SkyRoster, I am the person ultimately responsible for delivering the Workforce Management Operating System for the Air Traffic Management industry. I am intimately passionate about the role technology startups have in shaping our future. I believe that leapfrog innovation in technology will help the human race end the Resource Wars, which last from the beginning of humanity. Once we transcend that state, we can start dreaming of a future where each new-born has an equal opportunity at a healthy, prosperous and happy life, regardlessly of where he/she was born.
