After opening up my mind to more frontend development, I took a leap of faith and began working as a fullstack developer in a creative and innovative marketing company. I am a part of the billing department and I work in a very dynamic environment with responsibilities shared across a wide range of projects. It is important to be flexible and comfortable with wearing many hats; during my time here I have worked with Node.js, Python, Golang for the backend, HTML/CSS/Javascript, React.js and Redux for the frontend, as well as data storage solutions such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Kibana and Logstash. Some of my achievements here have been:

- Updating an internal application to a new version with an improved design that is fully responsive, as well as adding data visualization functionality that offered the possibility to the marketing department to get better feedback and make better decisions.

- Solving an obscure memory leak in a Golang application, causing the servers to be overloaded and requiring the application to be restarted.

- Implementing a custom monitoring application for our services which detect outages or communication problems in minutes, thus preventing costly downtime and offering sufficient information to identify a resolution to the problems quickly.

Backend developer in a digital agency, working mainly on landing pages, e-commerce sites and web applications in a Linux environment. Around 30%-35% of the time I was also working on the frontend, usually in order to add interactivity to the markup using vanilla Javascript, JQuery and Bootstrap. I had the occasion to experiment with small projects in Node.js and React.js, however my main contributions were to:

- Developing an application for a marketplace that offered booking of transportation from point A to point B. Contributed to the core backend, written in PHP using the Laravel Framework and began prototyping the frontend functionality, written in Vue.js in order to have a functional basic version of the application, which meant: creating an account, searching transportation and booking.

- Creating two e-commerce sites for an espresso machines vendor. Implemented custom designed themes and plugins in Prestashop (which is written in PHP using Symfony), added frontend functionality on top of existing functionality using vanilla Javascript or JQuery and configured analytics and tracking events for both sites.

- The development of the website for Bucharest's biggest street food festival by adding interactivity to the frontend and implementing custom animations, creating plugins for the CMS system that was used and adding functionality for existing plugins in the mentioned CMS system, which was called OctoberCMS and was written in PHP using the Laravel Framework.

Backend developer in a product development agency, working in a multi disciplinary team using agile methodology and interacting with: product owner, product manager, frontend developer and tech lead.

Main focus was on developing web applications, as well as designing, implementing and consuming REST APIs. Prototyped and developed projects such as:

- A proof of concept for an automated marketing message service using Twitter APIs. Developed the backend with Node.js with Express.js framework and MySQL for data storage and wrote a simple user interface with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Pug.js and JQuery.

- A web application for displaying daily, weekly and monthly offers, with search and filter functionality; the backend was written in Node.js using Express.js and the frontend was developed with Vue.js.

- Configuring containers for Docker in order to move a part of the infrastructure into containers running on AWS instances.
