Hello! I build successful software products by bringing the right people together and keeping them excited about solving hard problems. Starting as the second developer at Simplex Mobility, I built and led a team of 10 engineers who stayed with me for an average of 5.4 years. We turned a Canadian telecom startup into an acquisition-ready product that was successfully bought by DMI. I believe in finding and growing great people. My approach is simple - hire people smarter than me, give them interesting problems to solve, and make sure they have everything they need to succeed. I've seen this work whether I'm building systems for Canada's largest bank or running my own one-person SaaS company. My strength lies in finding the sweet spot between business goals and technical reality. At Simplex, I mastered the art of turning complex customer requests into features that work for everyone. When a major bank asked us for a custom feature, it's hard to say "no" but I found ways to implement it the way to benefit all our clients, from 50-person companies to enterprise customers. This balanced approach kept our product maintainable while satisfying diverse customer needs, ultimately making us more valuable for acquisition.
