I was hired to work with embedded development in optical network products. In the first months, I helped to test and to validate the equipment features already developed.
To keep the deadline for the equipment release, I started fixing bugs and develop new features.
As the deadline was at risk, we started planning what we could do to keep the release deadline, we decided to cut some features.
As the release date was near, the manual tests became our bottleneck. At this point, I reduced my development tasks and started developing automated tests. We decreased the execution time of manual tests and increased team reliability as we add more tests and increase the features coverage.
That was our humble first version of our continuous regression platform.

I was hired to work with embedded development in switches equipment. The team I used to work was responsible for a set of applications such as access (SSH, Telnet), backup, monitoring (SNMP). I spent a few years fixing bugs and creating new features.
Here was where I met Scrum, unit tests and test automation. There was a time we had some issues with the equipment quality, so we double our attention to quality. I had a huge growth in my career working here because besides being in touch with edge-cutting technologies I met some great professionals.

After a year as an intern, I was hired as a programmer, it was my first official job. In my first days got the mission to fix an application that used to work on the Windows XP but it stopped working in the next versions (Vista and 7). The programming part was not so big, but all the process of learning and figure out what happened from a version to others. That's what I’m proud of, that journey taught me a lot.
After that, I started working with a peripherical call center applications. I was responsible for the backups of phone calls records. I was responsible for fixing bugs, once it was a legacy application I didn’t develop any new feature.
Among used technologies, I would highlight:
- C/C++
- SVN
- Windows
