I worked on the TradeDepot platform which is ecommerce for retailers who buy in bulk compared to end-consumers. This was where I got my supply chain experience.
I used Javascript with the MeteorJs framework and the main database was MongoDb.
The system used Google's Firestore heavily for realtime syncing of data with mobile apps and provides offline support.
I also wrote scripts to migrate data between MongoDb and Firestore.
There were issues to overcome like rate-limiting, large data so streaming was sometimes necessary, knowing when an asynchronous operation is done in order to go to the next step.
