Implementation Specialist
• I setup the company’s Linux cloud web & E-mail hosting environment from scratch. This involved purchasing a VPS and installing the cpanel hosting management software (WHM) and the WHMCS billing system.
• Did an integration of the web-hosting billing system with the company website so that when customers sign up for the different hosting packages, the system will automatically provision cloud hosting accounts. This made it easy to manage and support a large number of customers.
• To date I have developed over 150 websites for our clients using the WordPress platform. This has given me confidence in my software development skills.
• I provide e-mail configuration & troubleshooting support, website support and software support for our clients both remotely and on-site.
• Introduced the concept of using TeamViewer and Anydesk for remote support to over 50% of our clients.
• Reduced server rental costs by 80% while improving speed and reliability by 50%. Did this through migrating to a scalable cloud hosting service.
• Pioneered the idea of developing an A.I based mobile application to assist farmers detect and diagnose crop diseases. The project is on-going & I am the lead software developer for this project.
• Introduced a cloud point of sale system to the Local SMEs. The software is a hybrid web based application that works on and off line. This enabled the company to develop the software and offer local support service.
• Responsible for identifying, Implementing and supporting open source software to solve business problems for SMEs.
• I write and post articles on technology on the company’s website and social media platforms.
• I supervised 4 IT students during their internship and helped them to develop their software development & system support skills.
