We are the squad of Cloud Platform specialists that collaborate to the success integration of OpenShift Container Platform on each cloud provider.

The currently platforms includes: vSphere, AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud and IBM Cloud.

We are continuous researching fastest paths to integrate new platforms, while continuous improving current ones.

The main goals are:
- continuous research and development opportunities to improve the product integrations, architecture, performance and scalability
- follow-up issues (RFE/Bugs) on OpenShift Org (Open source projects and product)
- share skills to Software and Support engineers with platform specifics subjects
- create and share content (research, KCS, Articles) for cloud specifics
- continuous improvement on OpenShift installer project (automated installation)

Currently I am acting as a specialist for AWS platform, experienced on Azure, AlibabaCloud and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure(OCI). I am also developer Lead of OPCT (OpenShift Provider Compatibility Tool) project - designed to allow long-tail cloud providers (partners) validated their OpenShift installation with conformance test suites.

As part of the Global Support of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, we work with the customers to achieve the technical success and better experience when deploying and managing the world largest Container Enterprise Platform.

The Team is based on LATAM region, working globally in a FTS (Follow the sun) workflow.

Skills and responsibilities:
- advanced management of OpenShift container platform in hybrid cloud (on premises/bare metal, VMware, RHEV, RHOSP, AWS, Azure, and growing)
- advanced troubleshooting, enhancing and bug tracking on open source projects related to OpenShift, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and related
- collaborate with internal tools to improve the support troubleshooting
- contribute with internal and external docs
- keep updated with product improvements and opportunities to improve the user experience
- interact with global support teams across different regions (LATAM, NA, EMEA, APAC)
- handle customer technical support cases, guiding him to the resolution as faster as possible

Challenges and Goals:
- Be the contact point to Cloud Computing in the whole organisation
- Improve the Cloud Compute knowledge over the organization with Internal workshops and training with 3rd party vendors
- Achieve the best resource usage in the Cloud sharing knowledge and best practices recommendations
- Guarantee that the Compliance is up to date and be applied over the Cloud Compute resources
- Responsible to spread the knowledge and best practices configurations over all AWS Accounts.
- Use AWS Well-Architect framework to improve the Cloud pillars

Skills:
- Advanced AWS Cost management using Cost and Usage Report's tools, including CSV deep dive
- Developer for reports and small APIs to supply Cloud Cost management and Compliance automation. Languages: Ruby, Python and Go. Tools: Rundeck, Grafana, Jupyter Notebooks, PowerBI, ArangoDB, Azure Tables
- Advanced automation for Cloud management using Ansible and GitOps
- Advanced architect knowledge providing guidance and follow up for projects and workloads running in Public Cloud vendors, mostly in AWS and Azure.
- Knowledge on AWS Management tools like: Cost Explorer, Billing (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, etc), Config, SSM, Trusted Advisor - including APIs / SDKs

Serving more than a billion of requests a day, our systems is changing the LATAM e-commerce. The Cloud Engineering team is ahead of technology and architecture of the products to delivery it's [micro]services, with high performance and low latency.

Architect high scale systems, such as:
- Redis cluster and replica mode
- MongoDB Shard cluster
- Low latency web applications/APIs in NodeJS, PHP, Java, Scala, Go
- In house API Gateway
- Centralized Log Streaming
- Relational and NoSQL databases clusters

Architect AWS services across many accounts:
- create private network interconnecting multiples VPCs across multiples accounts
- define IAM security policies globally
- restrict network and security group rules across internal resources
- enterprise AWS support working closely to the architects and product owners to improve the usage strategy and fix bugs
- earlier adapter for AWS products in multi-tenancy
- Cloud cost management: optimization/monitoring the usage, reservation, share costs by centers & products, advice internal teams

DevSecOps:
- create multiples IaC (Infrastructure as a Code) projects and common modules shared between them
- using Ansible as a default provision and Orchestration system in the Cloud environment
- Automate the management the infrastructure, security, application deployment, delivery, and monitoring systems

Leadership & Operations:
- recruit technical engineers with high skills
- technical leadership for Cloud Engineers/SRE team
- incident tracking and reporting using Post-mortem methodology
- on call planning and support for product engineer, technical account managers and support engineers

Development:
- Ansible modules (python)
- Ansible roles - public and private
- Python: scripts and internal automation APIs
- Go: Internal APIs, Prometheus exporters
- Reviewer and architecture design for application on languages: NodeJS, Go, C++, Scala, PHP, Python
