Recruited as a single developer in company to upgrade corporative CRM system, based on Yii, quickly enhanced and expanded this system into portal for employees and customers, where all company business goes on. System was growing so fast, that soon it required more hands to maintain, so a brand new Development Department appeared in company, with 5 specialists and me as a head of it.
Build a team from scratch, hiring new talents and integrating them into strong team, motivating them for passionate work and loyalty.
Automated almost all present business-processes in company, which was basis for over 50% growth of company per year.
Adopted development process for constantly changing business requests, which took me to develop my own mix of Agile and Waterfall management approaches, making monthly and weekly plans for both business and development team satisfaction, providing clean and understandable roadmap.
Refactored older code and used modern frameworks, such as Symfony, Yii2, Laravel. Optimized slow SQL queries for high performance, reduced server load for over 90%.
Build a Technical Support sub-department to quickly solve everyday problems and questions of system users, with a clean Helpdesk system.
Dived into each business problem, proposed real technical solutions, decomposing problems into tasks and managing their accomplishment.
Integrated Continuous Integration and Automated Testing, using Codeception, PHPUnit and Gitlab CI, which dramatically increased productivity of team and code stability.
