I began my journey with the Banking team, responsible for providing the infrastructure for products facilitating money transactions such as ACH and International Wires, while also integrating identity risk checks and more.

During my short tenure with the team, I focused on how to improve challenging-to-maintain and adapt patterns scattered throughout the codebase. Additionally, I dedicated efforts to backfilling information for the integration of identity risk checks.

In the last weeks, I transitioned into the role of 'project lead,' spearheading the development of a pivotal feature aimed at significantly enhancing customers' experiences. This feature enables users to meticulously customize their team role permissions, empowering them to tailor their experiences precisely to their individual requirements.

I played a pivotal role within a newly formed team focused on developing products tailored for Vendors. As the backend lead, I spearheaded the establishment of foundational elements for our innovative business model. As the project progressed, I started a closer collaboration with the Product and Design teams, actively participating in meetings to ensure alignment between product definition and requirements, and providing feedback in regards to the complexities of the development.

My responsibilities encompassed database modeling, defining interaction patterns with ledger and banco (money movement) interfaces, API development, Airflow DAG definitions, and more.

As the team lead and engineering manager of the 'BizOps' team, my focus was on overseeing the maintenance of the internal ledger system, reports, async tasks, and a substantial portion of the codebase essential for the seamless operation of our Risk and Operation teams. This encompassed crucial integrations with Plaid and accounting software.

In addition to managing day-to-day operations, I actively engaged in mentoring new team members, fostering their growth and development within the team. One of them progressed to the role of Engineering Manager, while another assumed the position of team lead.

As the first engineer hired in a new startup with a team size of five (which included the three founders), I played a pivotal role in laying the groundwork for our engineering efforts. As our engineering team expanded, we maintained a delicate balance between code quality and rapid development.

In addition to my technical responsibilities, I actively contributed to the hiring process, conducting interviews, designing exercises for applicants, and assessing submissions to ensure alignment with our team's standards, playing an integral role in shaping the culture of our engineering team, fostering an environment of collaboration, open and clear communication, and continuous learning from each other.

My technical contributions were multifaceted. I spearheaded the development of numerous Django models and admin interfaces to optimize operations and processes, engineered APIs to adapt to portal changes and implemented Celery tasks and Airflow DAGs to enhance offline data processing and synchronization.
