Working as a software specialist position at Globo.com is an amazing challenge. I divide my time in business decisions and coding.
Is our responsibility to help to evolve our developer staff, inspiring, mentoring, and giving constant feedback sessions.
And in big events, we always are open to innovate, bring new solutions to offer resilience and high availability for our products.
In my first year as a Software Specialist. I received a big challenge. Work as Technical lead in a small team, to help to offer a better experience for users consuming our OTT product: Globoplay. My team was responsible to deal with Continue Watching feature, that's impacts direct user experience during product navigation and video consumption.
Working with different areas of the company we deliver a whole new solution, reducing latency, errors and offering the best experience for users even in our heavy traffic moments.
We work with Golang, Cassandra, and Redis Streams to make this solution possible.

Globo made an important part of my career development. I lived amazing experiences with the biggest events that a developer will never feel totally prepared for.
I made part of two different teams in different areas of the company. GloboID was my first team, responsible for more than 90M of active users. Where I learned about
resilience, security, user experience and some of the new technologies that I never worked before. Like Redis Cluster, Django, Golang, Scala, and high scale issues with MongoDB.
After one year of GloboID, I was invited to join in a new challenge inside Globo, work with Webmedia team to deliver video content for a dozen of OTT products.
I learned about streaming, metrics, CDN's and I made part of a team responsible for the transmission of FIFA World Cup for more than 100M of Brazilians, an entire month of live matches
providing experiences in Web browsers, Native Apps and SmarTV's with live 4k content. Using Elixir, Ruby, Python, and Golang as main technologies.
As a Senior Engineer, part of my job is to work every day helping my team to organize tasks and set expectations between our platform and our clients.

Developing services to bring an IoT device, a wearable to monitoring the elderly, to a big data universe. With streaming processing applications, ETL processes, and powerful APIs to deal with thousands of requests per hour.
Among the technologies we used, are Golang, Python, Apache Spark integrated with AWS Kinesis and Redshift and other AWS cloud services like DynamoDB, SNS and Lambda.
