Runway Health is the first DTC telehealth brand focused on travel health.

Runway connects travelers with US based, licensed physicians who may prescribe FDA approved medications for all-too-common travel ailments such as traveler's diarrhea, motion sickness, altitude sickness, malaria prevention, and sleep aids.

As a VP of Engineering and Founding Engineer, I originally helped Runway on a part-time basis to assess, architect and build the teams and systems that would eventually become our full-service online travel clinic. I ended up joining full time when the time was right.

In addition to managing a team of engineers and contractors, distributed through Eastern Europe and Latin America, I interact with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and opportunities, and translate them into build and growth actions and initiatives. Stakeholders include clinicians, marketing specialists, campaign experts, outreach and partner support teams, customer support, and the executive suite.

From a technical standpoint, I love rolling up my sleeves and hack in:

• Contribute to the design and implementation of our travel & loyalty solution, mostly but not limited to our Java / POJO backend
• Gather requirements and implement loyalty programmes, using connectors in our extensible core API
• Gather requirements and implement Single Sign On functionality for end-users, through SAML and integration with our partners' identity provider services
• Contribute to the development and bugfixing of our web frontend, using CFML / Railo, JavaScript, etcetera
